It usually is....especially after I'm done buying parts for myself

RZV is finally split....time to get cranks sent out, and cylinders bored....
I have wasted too much time letting this collect dust on the bench, spring will be here before I'm ready.....I want this ready to ride.

Cases all clean, inside and out.
Waiting for my crank bearings, so I can send crank out to get rebuilt.

And trying to decide in what way this bike will be suspended and rolling...

That looks awesome man! Better than when it came out of the factory, I'm sure. I hope you have great fun on her..... and win a few awards at bike shows? I'd say its got to be a pretty strong contender.

Bike shows....I had been really hoping to get my bike into a few shows before it gets more patina added with my use and abuse.
But....first show had a temp of 38 degrees in the morning....too cold for me.
Second show had rain ALL day...never loaded up the van.
Third show....luckily had a vintage bike run on Saturday. The weather was perfect, and the bike worked as designed on some great roads without the slightest issue.
But the show on Sunday....rain all day it appears....

There was a GT550 on the ride, and I was also lucky enough to meet Madbuffalo from this site with his extremely nice GT750 as well.
A very nice guy, with a bike that looked like it was running perfect....which is tuff to do when these things start getting so old.
It's nice to see younger dedicated two strokers....makes me think I'm keeping a few alive for the next generation to enjoy.

Enjoy riding not hiding.

Smoking can be addictive.....

Busa, It was a pleasure meeting you as well. I thoroughly enjoyed riding alongside you and your RZV, and can say it looks just as good in person!

Yes it rained at Gilmore all day Sunday so most of it was spent either under umbrella chatting with other enthusiasts or in the barns taking in their vast collection of cars.

Has been sitting in serious despair for over 6 years waiting for me to get to it, as I have collected parts.
It's on the table for a second chance......these are the before pics....

My RGV VJ21 back up on it's own two wheels.
Waiting on my Nitron Shock to show up, and I have some brake lines on the way as well.

I found a close ratio trans and dry clutch SP motor in Japan, which will be the basis of the big bore motor.

Image

And my TZR / SP has better bodywork for the tail, so I can go in public now

That beautiful aluminium frame is a work art!

Thanks

One of the many reasons I prefer modern strokers.
Bike will be well under 250 pounds when finished....if I get the big bore done, should be 80rwhp....

I'm thinking it's the smart way to smoke

You need a clear fairing so the frame can be seen. It's a work of art, is that.
