Not much progress to show....
Its drag race season for the machine shop that is doing my head.....so it might be awhile before head is done....
Been trying to get the GS1000 dialed in a little better. I had just bolted on the 29 smoothbores after cleaning them, as they had been on my other GS1000 for untold years. The jetting seemed pretty close, but the more I ride it the more I felt it needed attention. The VJ23 is as close to done as it can be, after I slightly tweeked the Zeel ignition powervalve and air solenoid settings. The RZV is another story.....will need a rebore as the rust in cylinders is too much to hone out properly. And since there is rust on the bores, there could be rust on the crank bearings.....So total teardown and new bearings/seals just so I know it's right.

Oh yea.....my Aprilia RS250 should be going on the dyno soon too, hoping to have the GS1000 running right by then to check them both out.

Bit the bullet and found myself riding home on a new bike last weekend.
Wife wanted a comfortable bike to ride on, and I wanted a bike that could scare some sense into me.....
Only one bike to fit that order....

The RGV's are going to be keepers....
Although my Australian N model that has been in pieces for over 10 years, could go with hurting my feelings much.
I had my 78 GS1000 left for dead project for sale on Craigslist for a few weeks.....but decided to keep that for a while longer too

Since I have had the Superduke GT, I haven't touched any of my other bikes to ride or work on.....I've just been screwing off and riding....
.....could turn into a habit.
Hard to say no to 175HP...

64.9 best run with RS250
85.1 best run with GS1000
Went in just to see if I had them dialed in close enough to leave them alone, so I can then think about working on something else.
Hoping to get my CBX head back soon....then that will have to come apart again.
Winterizing my bikes at the moment (except the KTM) as winter feels like it's coming early

65hp from a street 250c twin is pretty respectable in any language.

Most GT750s don't come close to that and they weigh a whole lot more and are three times the capacity. Now if we could upgrade a GT750 to the same state of tune, we'd be making 195hp

After riding my VJ22 back to back with my VJ23.....
....I basically made my mind up, that when I do a crank up rebuild of the VJ22, I won't be able to keep it 100% correct and restricted (45HP)
It runs perfect as is, but it's pretty dull after riding the unrestricted VJ23.
It has NEVER been apart since new, so it really should get new seals in the least, before I ride it much more.
And if I have to put new seals in.....I might as well just go ahead and put in a new crank while they are still available....and build it to Japanese F3 specs...
And then see if I can get a street 250 close to 70HP at the tire....

Yes, kids with nice toys....

I would have killed to have anything like this as a kid.
I never had anything with a motor and two wheels til I bought my first bike after highschool...
Hopefully when the weather warms up this spring, my granddaughter will want to learn a little about bikes...?

Well, between me and my wife we have 4 granddaughters....so there is a chance of at least one of them might learn when they get old enough.

If all 4 want to eventually ride, .....I might have then pushed my luck a little too far
