Just two pictures from a ride

Post by Knut »

Had a ride last sunday inbetween the rain showers, stopped at a hilltop and enjoyed the view.
A far-from-stock GT550, my slightly modded GT550, a Yamaha TRX and a Norton Commando.

Nice views.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

It runs perfect and very strong when throttling, but suffers slightly from surging at constant speed at certain throttle positions. This may be caused by the pipes as they are self-made and there's no standard setup for the carbs to work with those pipes, so the only way to solve it is by adjustments, jetting and rejetting - testing and retesting. It was first built with a 3-3 exhaust but this is later modified to 3-2. Everything else that could affect it - coils, ignition (electronic) etc, is 100%. There is a thread on it in the customs section from 2013 or -14.
