Taking it apart doesn't frighten me....It's not a difficult job, but I am feeling lucky, so once it's clean I will be nailing it into the frame and firing it up at the earliest opportunity........fingers well crossed. As you say TZ, there's still time if it all goes tits up.
On the bright side, although Peter the painter couldn't obtain Suzuki Maui blue, he could get Daihatsu blue, and I can't tell the difference, can you?

Guess without a pictute you can't !

There's paint on the body work, and the project is progressing. It's now less than 6 weeks until the TT, and I must to confess to being a little nervous about the bike being ready. I'm also hoping to take the Gt750 "Racetrack refugee" as well, and that one needs finishing too. It seems I'm always waiting on someone else....my 500 engine didn't get soda blasted as planned because the blaster broke, so that's delaying things....
On the up side, the instrument mount, and fender mount/brace have worked well, and I found a bargain GS500 headlamp on evilbay to upgrade from the useless OEM lamp.

I will upload pics, when the board limit is lifted/revised.

Still struggling with posting pics.....anyone know what the problem is?

My tank and seat unit now have paint, and I spent some time yesterday putting the stripes on.
The fender brace I had cut, worked well, and has now been polished, and had the stainless fender bonded to it. I also designed a clock mounting bracket, which I had cut from 2mm stainless, and that has also worked nicely.....it bolts to the top yoke at the handlebar clamps, and we folded it to angle the instruments gently towards the rider.

Also good news....the soda blaster got his machinery functioning again, and cleaned my engine off nicely. I can now get it back into the frame, and try and get it started and running correctly before removing the outer cases for fine polishing.

I bought a GS500 head lamp very cheaply from ebay, to upgrade, and the keg style oil tank has had the spout, breather and outlet welded on, and just needs polishing to finish.

I would suggest opening a free photobucket account, it allows you to paste your image links directly into the body of the message text so you can post as many pictures you want of any quality.

The motor is now in the frame. and the body work is painted. The electrics have had a thorough going over, and everything is fully functional, including a nice big fat blue spark....I think the biggest job left to do is to sort the exhaust system. One of the pipes is made, and the one that needs doing is one of our upswept style...so is basically a formality.
I have been posting the progress of this build on DoTheTon as well......so anyone interested in taking a look can click here to view.

A week has passed, but we have been cracking on with the bike......short of some tiny bits, it's near done......
I have to say I am well pleased with the outcome, and it looks everything I had imagined and hoped for.
Still unable to upload pictures sadly, though other posters seem to be able to do it?

I do like the 500. Looks like an engine that means business.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Yep, I do.

Seems that the server which holds the picture files for this forum is full. So you cannot use the "Upload Attachment" function that is below where you enter text during "Post a reply".

Instead, you need to put the pictures somewhere else on the internet. Photobucket is where I put them, but it could be on your website, or anywhere else where you can type a http: web address, and see them in your browser.

Push the "IMG" button above where you type text, and you get something that looks like this:

< img >< /img >

Paste the address between the >< and the picture will show in your post.
