the front is rubber mounted along with the 2 rear mounts - my fear is that if I hard mount the motor to the frame, it will crack the exhaust pipes (like the very first LC250/350's did before Yamaha added the torsion bars)

Fair point Dave, but does the alloy engine cradle actually add any strength to the frame, or is it just a handy place to bolt a motor to?
The RGV250 engine cradles that bolt-on to the frame are only used to hang things like the radiator from - surely they cannot contribute to the integrity of the main beam frame?

I bet the cradle i made cannot be as stiff as a assembled engine so as you posted most likely its just a handy way to mount up the engine

No fan - it will (hopefully) cool via air ducted from the fairing nose. It's a track bike, so won't overheat in traffic.

I tried the TL1000 top radiator like yours, but it won't fit inside the fairing.
This is / was the last resort !

I didnt mean my post as a pick Garry , it was more of a ... i see what you have to do as i was there myself and was also thinking the under seat was going to be the only place i could put it It was really a gamble to try the TL radiator after i had already set it up for a under the seat as i really didnt think there was room for it in front .

didn't take it as a pick, Dave - open to all ideas / criticism's / suggestions. I know you speak from experience of a very similar concept, so welcome your input

oh the joy of fitting an under seat radiator - this bit goes here.........

90 degree elbow fits to the Kettle thermostat housing - fortunately for me, Suzuki cast the mounting bolts so it would fit in any 1 of 3 orientations, although in normal use the outlet faces forward. But then this build is anything but normal...........



and both pieces are connected with a short, straight length of pipe.........



and that's the return to the radiator sorted. The feed pipe is a whole new bunch of headaches...........
