380 pipes on a 550 will they fit??????

Post by andyp666 »

I found a set of 3 into 1 expansions for a GT380 does anyone know if the actually fit Dimensionally???? Im not too concerned about tail bracket that can be adjusted just if they go on the engine studs and still fit under the block?

No. The cylinders are closer together on the 380, the pipes on the 550 are larger diameter, the engine is taller and they aren't right.
Other than that, they're perfect.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Alan, should you not expect better performance from three single pipes anyway?
Better styling too...

Yup. 3 into 3 runs better top end, 3 into 1 is better bottom end but tends to get strangled at high revs as three exhausts are trying to get out of 1 pipe end!
The reason that I will be fitting a 3 into 1 on my 550M when I get it done is because there's already one on there!
It should be slightly better for acceleration anyway and that's what I'll be using, not top end.

'Fraid so Andy, just put a request on all the suzuki forums and a search on ebay so if any exhausts come up you get to know straight away.
