Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
I have had the Seeley frame painted in a metallic silver, the man wielding the spray gun Tim of TJC design in Bristol. He has produced a great job although in the photo you can't see the metallic sheen and just it looks grey. All the work was facilitated via Nick Anderson who runs Reality Motorworks the one stop shop for motorcycle restoration service (premises next door to TJC Design which is handy). When I came to ask about the bill I was told it was FOC as a modest gesture of sponsorship for the 2018 season (modest ?? about £200 worth). We shall be applying a few http://realitymotorworks.co.uk decals to the fairing next year. The down side now I have to get the fairing and seat re-sprayed to match the chassis , we might be the "Silver Dream Racer" for next season lol.
Cheers Geoff

Hello Eamonn,
It does look good in the metallic silver . The decision to paint was driven by corrosion protection but I'm glad I have had it done.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Cheers Geoff

Just about all ready for the 2018 season.
It will first appear at the Bristol Classic Bike Show on the 3-4 Feb, before it gets all sullied by an actual race meeting

Thanks, Eamonn
My rider Gary May is due for some surgery in early Feb so it depends on his recovery before we go racing again.
Cheers Geoff

Hi Eamonn,
It would be good to see you when you are over . I live in the west country, just outside the city of Bath so hope you are in my vicinity.

Hey Geoff
how are preparations for your season going? I have my fist race coming up 22nd April in Alcarras. I am fitting some new Tyres and this time going to try a set of Conti`s Attack 2CR. I noticed a lot of the guys in Spain run them on the bigger bikes and there are a couple of tracks in Spain where the Avon does not seem to work well. Los Acros (Next round) and Catalunya. Just wanted to ask if you had ever run them? Well I will let you have some feedback after the 1st race.
Take care and good luck for the season
Cheers

Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
A long time since posting in this thread. We did not manage to get out at all in 2018, rather ironic considering the bike was fully prepared 6 weeks before the first race. Rider recovering from some serious neck/spine surgery (repairing old race injuries) and the normal scarcity of resources conspired against us.
However we are raring to go this year (until the cash runs out lol ) and we will be at the CRMC's first meeting at the Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire on the 5/6/7th April. As CC is only 10 miles away, rather than the usual +150 miles for the other circuits I have no excuse for not getting it together. Despite the proximity of CC to nice warm proper beds we will be sleeping in the van, don't want to miss the usual social side of Classic Racing that being in the paddock brings.
The bike has had revised pipes and some other enhancements since we last raced so we are hoping for a good weekend.
Cheers Geoff

Hey Geoff
Great to read you are getting back on track so to speak. I will be very interested to read how it goes with all the new bits you have bolted on.
I had a really good 2018 with my Suzuki finished 2nd in the championship Catalan and bike worked great all season even got 2 wins and 5 podiums in total.
The Bike is back in Belgium now for some major rebuild as the engine has done 2 full seasons without being opened and the rear swingers is tired so a new one will be fabricated.
I will not have it for this season, so I will race my 350 Bultaco in the national championship and the NS500 in the Catalan but we need to develop that bike and hope to get a first practice in on it early April in Zolder.
Wish you a great start to the season I will keep watching this space.
cheers

Hello Eamonn,
Wow, you had some great results, congratulations on the podiums and championship position .
The new pipes should raise peak power to 8500 rpm (vice previous 7750 rpm) and produce a few more horse power because of it (fingers crossed). Hopefully my race engine is as durable as yours has been, although I do have spare engine now just in case lol .
Good fortune with the Bultaco and NS500 this year.
Cheers Geoff

Re: Seeley (replica) Framed Project Road Racer
Well, we had a pretty good time at Castle Combe. A few issues were sorted out during the pre-race test day and we then recorded the following results in the 4 races:
Race 1 - 2nd (by 0.116s )
Race 3 - 3rd
Race 3 - 1st (and lap record)
Race 4 - 2nd
Rider Gary May now leading the championship
Cheers
