Super Eliminator is launching a brand new website for 2018 as we move forward.

The new site houses our race Schedule, links to each track, Rules, searchable Records Data Base, Racers List for Points and a Blog w published article and pictures from our races.

Check it out and get those bikes ready for our first race in July...!

Nice new web site.

There are a lot of classes in that database of records that are not listed in the front page of current classes. For example the older ones are often a single letter presumably for engine size compared to later SE double letter.

Are those still "active" in terms of beating those older records or are we just looking at S/E records to put in the books.

Second question: What was the HH engine class? was that 350cc or 250 or something else and if it's a smaller capcity, is there enough interest to resurrect it?

Oh, and I have a third question: Did I see that you managed to set an MPH record of 150 on gas ie before you added Nitrous? That is just ridiculously fast for a GT750. Awesome work.

R,
Basically all 2-stroke classes (double letter designation) are “as-structured” after the IDBA folded in 1999 but the 4-stroke classes (single letter designation) are different in order to manage the program in today’s market. It’s not to say we can’t offer any of the 4-stroke subclass from the past as bike counts increase and certain 4-stroke bikes begin to show up regularly but for now, most of those bikes will either fit into one of the 4 STREET classes or into the DRAGSTER class. If we need more subclasses, we can add as we go.

Our goal is to accommodate interested racers and find a class for them to compete in the spirit of Super Eliminator.

For 2-stroke, there are no changes from what you are used to. Since you and C are both running national record numbers, will you be coming to race at Dragway 42 in July? It’s a ManCup event at a new track for all of us.

Thanks Kevin, That all makes sense. Two strokes are twice the bikes that 4 strokes are so they get double letters..

The reason I asked about HH engine class was that I saw it in the record lists and I also saw that on a sticker on a picture of an RD Yamaha and I wandered it if was a 350 class or a 250 class. If we get a slew of T500 and H1's I guess that will be time to look at an extra class.

The plan right now is to be there in July. I will probably bring the Phat Trakka because I made some changes at the end of last year that I'd like to test - if it ever stops snowing for long enough. I would like to get the GG-M RD350 finished and running to see what we can do with it even though C is determined to get her MPH record up over 100 on the RZ first.

sat out right next to the launch pad at Sonoma Raceway last Sunday afternoon, cars and bikes. Never seen drags up close, and there was no way to be closer, no more than 8' from the cars. Couple of drag bikes ran, wild to watch all the classes, from rails to a Neon and a pickup truck with a camper. The ground pounding from the big cars was amazing, thank god for ear plugs being up that close.

A class for 250's would be major incentive
Might even get some off beat supermoto/drag 250 dirt bikes out on the track....?

Randy, I suspect that the class structure is a bit like chickens and eggs or horses and carts. Riders want the class established before bringing out a bike and organizers need to see bikes coming out before they will add a class.

What about one of your 4 smokes for those classes - or does that give you too many choices? :?

The classes have been condensed ........
The smaller classes used to be,
FF is 500
GG is 400
HH is 350
II is 250

That makes sense. Thanks. And if we get dozens of RD250/350/400 based race bikes, there may be a time to expand those classes, but with only 1 out there, not necessary yet. Could be fun if we needed to do that.

Randy, if you are considering the CBX, the class for that would be CBX/S. There is no existing record for that bike so once you make 3 qualifying passes, you will establish the record.

Many of us are looking forward to see one of your bikes at SE this year.

Richard, to answer your question about records, we are planning to implement a rule that basically states: if a Record has not been broken after one full season following the season it was set, the record will be converted to an Index adding 3 tenths. The final language will be posted on the website once it’s finalized.

I think someone needs to build a gt550 dragbike.........
I've been thinking about this for awhile, start with a super light chassis and a basic engine package to start with........ after a few seasons update the engine with more power.....
I think there is a lot more potential with this engine than people realize.......

Dave,
I couldn't agree more. My brother-in-law and I built pretty much exactly the bike you're talking about in '76. It was basically the same roller as the '77 GT750 record bike but with the GT550 motor. Very light. We started with a mild motor because my in-law was a little scared of it. I think he got into the 11s. Could be wrong. He sold it before we put any real power in it. I don't remember where it went. Sorry, I don't have a pic of it to post.

And if they could manage to convert to reeds plus extra ports, that could be a winner.
