Do the Ton dot com

Post by tz375 »

For those among us who don't spend any time on http://www.dotheton.com, you may be interested to see a GT750 as one of this month's Bike Of The Month. It should appear in the banner at the top of the page.

It makes a change for the usual diet of Honda Cb250/360 twins and SOHC 4s that are the mainstay of the latest version of the Cafe racer scene.

In the interests of full disclosure, it's my bike.

Thanks Josh. Just spreading the word about cool old Suzukis.

There's a couple of other Sundial guys over there - all with great build threads making a contribution to the next generation of riders and builders.

Nice work mate - I'm a member over there, but rarely post. There's a limit to how many forums I have time to read!

I have been there for a while, but like others, It's "kinda" turned into, buy a cheap beater chop it up and you are done. Not saying there aren't some very nice bikes and builds there, but out of hand....... :?

Hey Richard...great to see your kick as bike sitting right up in the banner. There are a number of good builds there and plenty of different ideas on how to mod these old bikes. There are a few that I just scratch my head and wonder...but hey everyone has their own interpretation of what makes for a good looking bike.

Thanks Chris.

We all had to start somewhere, but what some of the guys are smoking is beyond me at times. When they are open to ideas and to learn, that's fine but sometimes people get stuck on an idea and some of them are unusual to say the least and then again, some are downright dangerous.

What they do to their own bikes I guess is their own issue but heaven forbid the day that an abomination is sold to some unsuspecting buyer who thinks that the builder knows what he's doing and that results in a crash. That would be really sad - and avoidable.

That said, there are some really high quality builds and people are prepared to try things I would never have tried back in the day, so on balance it's good.

The idea behind getting my bike noticed was to encourage people to up their game and to think outside the CB350/360.

I just tried to do that and am having some code issues. I'll try it from my desktop and see if I can clear them. Thanks for the vote. Every vote counts.

Diversity of bikes is what will keep that board going strong. A board like this one is also great because there is no other place to get such a detailed knowledge on Suzuki 2 strokes. It's a good combination between the two boards.
