Best way to extend swingarm?
He guess, I know I have a lot of questions.
Whats the best way to extend the stock swingarm on a GT750?
Or is it easier to swap a GS swingarm?
Is it better to add at the end where the arm straightens out or at the front so I dont booger up the alignment?
Thanks

Re: Best way to extend swingarm?
A GS swingarm is a common enough transformation, but they are wider, and the stock exhaust won't clear. Try finding a GT 550 arm. They are about 1 1/2" longer, and will bolt right in, and every thing will bolt to it, with little or no mods. Worth a shot. Cheers.

I realize that but it's pretty long for a street bike too. Most of that excess comes form a hugely over long motor.

I've been thinking of extending the swinger on my GT380 a fe inches to get clearance for a mono shock. That's one reason to do it...

Like this! Its extended 3". It isnt light weight like a GS arm but looks great. Basically just extended the tubes 3 inches and welded a thin plate to both sides. Ill have to start a build thread.
I wanted to keep the "old" look as this bike is going to be a rider, cruiser.

Re: Best way to extend swingarm?
I bought a 1978 GS 1000 swingarm with the wheel and disc set up. It slides right in. Only modifications was drill and ream the frame pivot shaft hole
to the larger Gs1000 piece. I'm using 1200 Bandit foot controls and master cylinder for rear sets. Pretty easy swap. Th GS1000 swingarm is 3" longer and uses needle bearings instead of plastic/bronze bushings. Easy swap. I wanted longer wheelbase to keep the front end down. HAHAHA

I'm trying to attach pics from my laptop windows 8.1. The file is only 440kb but it says my pixels are too high now. I'M sorry, I don't know what to do. I've got great pics and want to share them. What the hell am I doing wrong????
