Hi
I’m looking to fit an SV650 caliper onto the GT500 front end of my new project. Has anyone carried out this modification and has a drawing or a cad file I can use to get a conversion plate made?
Cheers
Colin

Lots of links here - https://www.kettleclinic.co.uk/kcforum/ ... 85#p109885
and here - https://www.kettleclinic.co.uk/kcforum/ ... 50#p106028 .
I upgraded the brakes on one of my my GT550A with chinese m/c's with twin front discs + a hydraulic clutch - and a GS1000 m/c + GS1000 calipers on my GT750B.
Lots of options for a straight swap as the SV650 calipers need some work to fit the GT forks.

Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Twin piston calipers are a popular upgrade for early Suzuki GS bikes.
The early commonly-used caliper has pistons of different sizes.
A member of the Suzuki GS forum sold an adapter plate that allows for easy upgrade for GS & GT Suzukis.
The upgrade kit requires the use of a slightly larger brake disc.
I used that adapter for my T500 cafe build. Also did a fork upgrade & switched to an 18” rim.
See my T500 build topic:
http://www.suzuki2strokes.com/forum/vie ... 21&t=13126
It turned out quite nice.
But the availability of good used calipers was becoming problematic, so they designed a new adapter that works with the newer calipers with pistons of the same size.
So looking into GS upgrades is the place to start.
