GT750J front brake on T500

Not been here for a while guys, but have been busy
I acquired a GT750 J front brake a while back and have slowly been refurbishing
Vapour blasted, new brake linings, new cables, stainless spokes and new flanged alloy rim.
I finally got round to fitting it last weekend.
I have been running a GT750 M front end with twin disc, but prefer the look of the drum for this period of bike
I know, some of you will say it’s a backward step, but I did used to use a 4LS brake many years ago while I was historic class racing and always found it more than adequate
Bike is now my daily road bike, so I figure it will do the job.
Could not find a set of J model forks, but found the drum fitted the later forks easily, using a caliper mounting lug to bolt the anchor arm too.
If I ever come across a set of J model forks, I might swap over.
Very happy with results
Will try to add some pics this coming weekend

The 4LS drum fitted without difficulty on my GT380J.
So GT380J forks are another option.

Thanks for that, might just give me another option.
Only proviso being how long the tubes are, the extra length of the 750 forks is good as I can mount my clip ons above the fork crown. ( Yes old age is definitely creeping up on me)

Easiest, just fit flat bars, or if you need 'clipon style' try Ace bars or Clubman style. Plenty on ebay.
Not sure how clipons would fit above the fork crown as they fit on the forks, so they would be lower than the top yoke.
Remember that 380 forks aren't the same diameter as 750 or 550 forks so you'll need top & bottom yokes/bearings etc., and 750J forks are slightly wider than 550J forks.

Never been a fan of flats or clubman bars
Plus the clip ons I have been using for many many years are adjustable for both sweep back and droop ,
Only time I ever had flats on this bike was back in 1977, when living in a London and I fitted a sidecar on it and rode Greece.
All comes down to personal preference I guess.

Should have said, the length of the 750 forks is such that about it leaves about 75 mm of tube above fork crown, plenty enough to allow clip ons to mount there.
