My GT750 got showed up real bad at one of the Bike meets i went to that had a dyno setup . My stockish engine GT cranked out 60 hp and i thought not to bad for 70's tech . Then a fat boy Harley rolled into the test stand and spun out like 110~120hp , i dont know what was the size or what was in the motor but it sure put me in my place

Mais non, mon ami.

Surely strapping a very custom GT750 to a dyno in a public forum has to be close to the definition of "crazy". Or was it the Harley rider that meets that definition with a one ton bazillion dollar motorcycle trying to impress everyone. :?

I drag race mine and it's set up as a street tracker. Does that meet the criteria.

Well actually it is a little off topic. The idea was to post amusing pictures, not anecdotes. Nevertheless, it is not a crucially important topic, just a little fun, so there is not really much point in being too pedantic I suppose.

it was meant in fun - hence the smiley :D
you've seen my RGT250LC, and surely that's the sort of thing we need on this thread? :D
if i could post piccys i could show you my GT285, with upside down forks, scalloped tank and 250a top end grafted onto a ramair bottom end?
or my big bang 250, both pistons firing at the same time, in a T350 rolling chassis, GS1000 forks [again], twin disc front end, etc etc :D
or the project i'm just starting - a GT500/4? yes, a 4 cylinder made from the dozens of GT250 ramair cranks and crankcases i've got in the shed. i've got as far as buying a 20 ton press and getting 3 cranks completely to bits. now the fun begins :D i was going to start another thread on it, but the speed i'm going with it, it could take some time - if i live that long :D
cheers, dd.

Wow that sounds great DD!
Any pics are good.
Incidentally, I hope you live longer!
A GT500/4 would an outrageously extravagant stroker. I'd love to see one of those. In fact, when you get it done, let me know and I'll ride up to see it and we can go for blast together.

i'll probably be about 90 then :D
if i've still got my k10 i'll come out to play on that :D
all i want is this 500/4 to fire - just once, i'm not bothered if it runs, just want to hear it go bang once and i'll start something else and believe you me, i'm no allen millyard :D
cheers, dd.

hi dave, i'm definitely going to try :D i've already worked out most of the problems i'm going to encounter and written them all down in a big jotter :D but i guarantee there will be plenty more i hadn't even imagined.
the crank will be pretty easy, although i've got to use 3 middle cranks [shortened] to press it all together properly. instead of 2 seals and a bearing i've now got one seal, one bearing and an oil thrower [and thrust washer], which is somewhat narrower.
the problem i'm having atm is where to cut the crankcases? the more i look at them, the more they look way too thin and weedy for welding. i haven't got the skill or the tools to make a crankcase from scratch [or the money], so it's cut and weld. i thought of starting with a 380 and add one cylinder, but the amount of 250 ramair spares i've got made it a non starter - i'll use what i've got plenty of :D i do shed builds, no cnc, nothing fancy, just hard work and long hours, repeating as necessary
thanks for the link - i'm on the same forum as him and he's definitely got more £££££££££££££££££££ than me :D
great project though.
cheers, dd.

I think your RGT250 Looks great DD. It may not be a concours class winner, but it is a nice usable special, ideally suited for its purpose. FUN!
