Your fabrication skills get better all the time. That's some amazing work.

Thanks Lane! They still leave much to be desired..."don't look behind the curtain"... One of the issues with this build is the clutch cover that was opened up for the dry clutch. I had to TIG the aluminum ring that holds the big oil seal into the cover. I did 90% of the welding as my first job after getting my first TIG...bad mistake... Lots of cleanup and I will need to get a slight bow out of the cover...

Re: GT250 Cafe - Build Experiment
Got out at O'dark Thirty and cut out the new "points" cover. Dished it a bit and polished it up. I know I have a bag of the proper NOS screws...just need to dig them out of their hiding place....
Also got the pickup assembly fastened together so it will go on today sometime after I return from Harbor Freight...can't find my chain breaker darn it...
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Last time in there i used a 20% off on 2 of the gadgets you roll your bike up on so it easier to maneuver the bikes around in the garage to get them close to the wall http://www.harborfreight.com/low-profil ... 95896.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Got the ignition pickup finished and installed...side cover on...new points cover on... Shortened the chain to length and installed it... Sprocket cover finished and installed... Cut and threaded the shifter link rod and got that whole mechanism working...
Massaged the clutch cover and will work more on that tomorrow...

Re: GT250 Cafe - Build Experiment
More time to play today so I decided to fab up the guard for the whirring clutch. Sheet aluminum mounted with some S/S cap screws. Trimmed it a bit in depth once bolted on and mocked up with the clutch pack. Another half moon...a little TIG action....and some rough polishing. If I get some more time tomorrow I'm gonna try to "sex it up" a bit...

Re: GT250 Cafe - Build Experiment
Not much real work...older kids in from out of town and business trip to Baltimore last week. Throttle cable is on but need to drill and tap the grip housing for the larger cable end threads.. Small work done on finishing up the right side cover but still needs final polish. Once that is done I should be able to complete the clutch-side assembly. I did order some stainless for the chambers that should arrive Saturday....
