Exhaust flanges for a Suzuki gt550

Post by carson shmarson »

Does anyone know the stock exhaust flange size for the Suzuki gt550, I'm trying to weld myself up a budget 3 into 1 exhaust for my bike. I have a new - ish baby so I couldn't afford a $700 exhaust. I got a go cheaply if I want to ever ride this thing. Thanks in advance guys.

Have you got the old pipes? just use the headers if the rest is crap.
You can just put a flange on the pipes about a half inch from the cylinder end with a piece to go over the pipe and with 2 holes to catch the threaded holes in the cylinders then.
All you need then is 3 compressible gaskets in the exhaust ports for the pipes to push into.
If you haven't got any original pipes, just look on ebay for 3 crap ones and saw the ends off.
There are lots of cheap pipes in the US. Try and do budget in the UK. It doesn't happen!

If you want to do a rebuild on a REALLY tight budget, trust me, you'll be lucky.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
