I estimate the engine weight is 80kg. I cannot lift the engine myself without help

just found in the engine service manual that they say 84kg or 38.2 lbs (hmmm, something in that conversion didn't quite work out me thinks)

38 pounds would be the crankshaft by itself.......

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

I laughed when I saw that in the manual, it's not the first metric->imperial problem I've noticed within

84kg seems to be right, that should be somethinglike 180 lbs, correct?

1 kilo = 2.2 lbs, so 84Kg = 184.8lbs, or approximately the same as a small planet!

Looks like the manual is dividing by 2.2 instead of multiplying.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Slow progress on the bike, but I am not in a hurry. Hunting for the right components at the right price is part of the fun.
Finally found the correct period front and rear brake master cylinders. Front is a AP Racing, adjustable from 16mm to 19mm piston equivalent.

Rear is from Kawasaki Z650 I believe:

I am using the classic AP Lockheed calipers front and rear, waiting for the adapters to be fabricated.

I had to laugh when I read this. When I went to put the engine in Bad Attitude (my 1990 GSX-R1100 street fighter) I was doing it one morning about 5am as everyone else slept. I picked up the engine with my engine stand attached with loose bolts planning for the stand to fall away. And yes it did....all but one point. So there I stood holding the engine with one bolt still holding the stand hanging loose and no way to set it down and no one around to help! Needless to say I was a bit sore the next day. :D
