If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Re: A Katana................in here................?????
yes Dave - I'm beginning to think the GT750 motor may look a little lost in the frame.
may change when I get the head, thermostat housing, hoses and bodywork on though.

Re: A Katana................in here................?????
Gary, how far down do the funky tank and fairing fit?
A GT motor is a lot less tall than what was in there but it might look OK and if not, drop in a top mounted turbo or supercharger to fill up the space.

Re: A Katana................in here................?????
still waiting for the frame to be welded.
Off to collect the barrel (jug?) today - it's been skimmed to allow for a spacer to be fitted under the barrel to raise the porting.

Re: A Katana................in here................?????
cool! (not the waiting part, but the part about raising the exhaust ports.)
Being a noob to modifying 2 strokes I had to google how raising exhaust ports affects performance. I read that it trades off a little low end grunt for some top end power. What is your plan for an exhaust system?

Re: A Katana................in here................?????
got a call today to say my frame is welded so hotfooted it down to the bike shop.
this is the final welding of the GT750 engine cradle tubes to the original Katana frame………….
I have now decided that I don't like the look of the rear footrest brackets / silencer mounts so they are coming off next - more welding required
