Incredible Kettle

I picked up the March copy of Streetfighters and there in all its glory is Filth's Incredible Kettle. I hadn't caught up with the news that Filth won teh MCN competition for "Britain's got biking talent". So congrats to Filth for that.

The man certainly knows how to market himself.

This one has a somewhat upgraded motor with a 3mm barrel spacer, huge crabs and angled inlets which now makes a claimed (guestimated) 95 HP. I'm guessing that Matt at IZAX did most of the heavy lifting on this one, but it's incredible alright.

It just doesnt seem fare to me for someone who claims to build a custom bike like this just because he can sign a check

Dave a lot of people in the custom business will say for and against this, but to ME building a custom bike means YOU the builder have to do at LEAST 80% of all the work yourself.
Whats the point of having a frame or any other major parts made up to your specs at a specialty shop and then claim that entire visible workpiece as your own.
Same thing happened all the time on the American Chopper show, it just pissed me off.
Anyone can dream up something, but theres only a few individuals who can actually build it all from scratch.
Even if you cob together a bunch of stock available parts and make it into a visible masterpiece, you are still a true customizer, because YOU created something yourself from initial thought to final finish from nothing.

The world isn't fair, but Filth doesn't actually have your mechanical abilities. I sometimes wonder what he does for a crust. Whatever it is it must pay well.

It takes all kinds and as far as I'm concerned, it's all good.

Can't wait to see the GT750SRAD running and painted.

It boggles the mind what he must have spent on that frame!! Or any of the rest, for that matter. There is no denying its beauty. It makes any of mine look down right pedestrian. The K5 version is pretty cool as well. This me feeling inadequate, and signing off. Cheers.
