Y E S

Now take your time to work out where you are at and let's talk. If you forgot my phone number, email me and let's walk through this and get it up and running.

I think maybe we need more radical porting though. That chassis can handle a lot more than we planned on feeding it.

How far did the wiring get last time and did you start off by matching basic lights etc to the chassis wiring or did you start with sensors to connect to the ECU?

Thinking about it, maybe teh easy way to sneak up on this would be to get the chassis electrics sorted first and then connect the ignition and then the charging system and then sneak up on all the new/additional wiring.

Even though it it sure doesnt look it a lot has been done , all the front and lights , turn signals and brake lights . Its still a lot of the ECU that needs the hooking up .

That's good. Next should probably be the ignition system and charging because they are quite simple.

Then work down a list of sensors and connect them up one at a time. Then power up the ECU and see what all the sensors are reading. Typically they get their 5v feed from the ECU and they may need to have their own ground leads back to the ECU.

Seeing that move under it's own power, will be serious motivation for a lot of us here, to attempt the seemingly impossible ourselves.
Thanks for the inspiration and ideas

How's that 86 GSXR going?....mines still waiting for attention. :(

I have been toying with this project for so long i know many would like to see it done just so i stop talking about it  but i too would love to see it run . The Slabbie had to have the engine replaced after i first got the project as the one that came in the boxes was oil starved and siezed up .. now after getting to run it hard i have discovered a oil leak from the left front of the cam cover . Turns out the cover hold down screw is completely stripped out ( just pulls right out ) so its going to need a heli coil put in so while i am in there might as well replace the cover seals and adjust the valves . I like these old bikes have the screw valve adjustment . I was very surprised the power and sound between the GSXR and the 1200 Bandit with a similar looking engine to be so different .

Looks interesting - is there a previous post explaining what it is / where it was at?
I'm guessing from the banter that you are attempting to fit fuel injection - using carb bodies?
I'm intrigued........... :D

WOW !! that looks really trick Dave.
I read a lengthy article about a guy in the USA who converted his 350 Yam to run EFI using Micro/Megasquirt equipment - very interesting it was too. Of course, I can't find it now.........
