I know that on the Polaris versions the numbers relate to root diameter and it's fairly easy to work out the incremental annular area between needle and jet with different combos to work out equivalent needle jet sizes.
What I need though are the tapers to work out the difference above 1/4 throttle when the needle starts to lift.
If you have time before you are ready to fire it up, mail me one of each of the needles and I'll measure the profile and can give you a baseline comparison.
BTW, I decided to get rid of my spare pump and fuel level gauge via USPS. It has the mounting ring attached just as it was surgically removed from the donor tank. Clears some space here which is much needed.

" Reed motors tend to use richer low end jetting because they have less reversion and pick up less fuel" ....Do you feel the 27.5 ver the 17 pilot jets would be needed to feed the reed motor then ?

My pair came with 27.5 & 32.5 and was thinking of starting off with #40 or maybe #50 but I may be overly cautious there.
I like two strokes to be on the rich side of OK so that I don't stick them at small throttle openings. I don't want it so fat that it stumbles, but cool fuel is good at idle.

And there's the rub. We don't know until we try. We have data on all sorts of combinations but so far none with these carbs. In theory they generate a stronger "signal" under those funny curved slides and may need smaller jets but we have no data points.
I have a sneaky suspicion that we'll end up smaller than on the same size VM round slide carbs which seems to be the way they work, and around 30 or 32.5 but I'm just guessing here.

Being these carbs came off a 440 twin engine thats so close to cylinder size i am even surprised at the range of jetting i found in the 5 carbs i have . Now i am in Pa. i should be able to visit a Arctic Cat dealer to see if they can provide some info .

I have boxes of all sorts of jets for VM, BS and TM Mikunis and Zero pilot jets for these oddball TMXX models.
To fire the bike up try with what you have. You will get a sense of whether they are wildly too small at idle before you have to run out and buy heaps of jets to test with.

OK so i will get 1 more 27.5 and 2 more 300 main jet and 1~6FM4-60 needle and 1~ 6FM6-61 needle.

I made up a bracket and adapted a float type sender to the carb type fuel pump

After getting the pump and level sender together i found it wouldnt fit into the gas tank designed for the FI , luck for me i also brought along a standard gas tank as in my avator and the combined fuel pump slipped right in .

Gas gauge works now ( empty ) I like how the fuel level section of the gauge starts flashing as the level drops below about 1/8th tank left

Looking really good Dave! Did you use an offset sprocket to get your chain aligned correctly? If yes, where did you get it?
