Those pics were from the first round of eliminations on Sunday. I was very fortunate to make it past Matt who set the National Record for his class on that bike. He made a nice pass during Qualifying the day before. Matt is a fierce competitor but super nice guy. I just got lucky on that one.
Thanks for coming out Tom. It was great to see you there and i know you enjoyed seeing all those 2-strokes together at one time. Its like Deals Gap on steroids. Thanks for the Hatchet Man Art work. It looks like you spent a lot of time making it. You are too good to me....
Hope you enjoyed seeing the Top Fuel bikes...they are really something from another plant.
That last picture is during Qualifying. That is Joe Bird in the far lane...you can see how fast his bike is...if you look at the tree, I RED lighted and he is already well in front of me after 10 feet.
Joe Bird and Bill Baxter run one of the fastest normally aspirated 2-strokes on the planet. Its a beautiful bike that I think runs high 8.2's.
It looks like you are having fun, and that's what matters. I doubt you'll catch Baxter's bike, but you are doing a great job getting a Buffalo out there in the fray.

To be the lone buffalo in a sea of H2s pretty much stacks the cards against you.... As far as competing directly against each other, the H2s are about as "purpose built" for dragging of all the vintage strokers...

True enough Tom , as Kevins bike sits now with some lights on it he could just about ride it to the track ...race... and ride it back home . I dont think the top dog Kawasaki's could say that
That's a good point Dave. Kevin's motor is close to stock apart from big carbs and a set of JEMCOs.
We should be able to get another 20 to 30 HP out of that motor at a reasonable cost, before it starts to get unreliable . After that, time and money get consumed at an exponential rate
Super Eliminator (the 2-stroke class) is broken down into subclasses depending upon the extent of modification and displacement.
Because I already have 1st OS pistons, I am now considered in the EE subclass which is 740 - 779 cc. Unfortunately, I am at the wrong end with 748 cc using .5mm over.
I want to start my engine rebuild based upon 1.5mm OS pistons which I guess would be considered 3rd OS and give 770.9 cc displacement.
If I can find 71.5mm piston kits, I would really like to start there and give it a good run for the money.
Or get a good set of barrels with stock pistons and go that way. Ask Boretech or Millenium Technologies about plating those iron barrels to bring them back to stock bore.
Fit new WISECOs which would be lighter than O/S pistons
Then add port time-area and reduce weight and set a new national class record.
