Thanx Richard , i went to 2 different sources to get the jets i needed as that first place couldnt provide the pilots i wanted and there shipping charge was unreal , so i went with another company that had good prices and fair shipping charge http://www.mfgsupply.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and also had the jets i needed , so i also picked up a set of 280 main jets . So now i have 230, 280 and 300 main jets and a set of 17.5 and 27.5 pilots and as that chart recommended the slides are 3.5 cutaway .tz375 wrote:Or not.....![]()

Not sure, but mine also have one way vales in the lines. I suspect it's because a sled also experiences side forces that will tend to throw fuel out under hard cornering. On a bike that is not an issue, so you can probably leave them on or off.

Thanx for asking Gerry but with all the spring and summer work going on around the house i have barely looked at it . I did change out the oil injection tank to one that was smaller and installed the same way as the GSXR " Yellow " bike .

Re: Here i go again ..
Summers done so brought the project back into the house where i can work in the warm , first thing i took on and finished was the throttle cables as using the stock 72~73 cables everything was wrong and i am too cheap to get custom ones made . So the assembly was shortened from the junction to the the grip and at the same time fitted with the end piece so it would fit up to the modern grip . At the other end the 3 carb cables were the wrong length so instead of cutting the cables i made up longer adjusters to go in each carb .. this works well .

Re: Here i go again ..
I am still working on figuring out the coolant bypass , adding the reed intakes has blocked the normal route the bypass hose would run . Even the hose fitting that screws into the case by the starter is too tall as i cannot fit a hose on it . I worked on the problem yesterday by taking the stock hose fitting that screws into the case and made it much shorter so now a hose can be fitted , now to find a hose with a proper bend in it to snake around and attach up to the pipe coming down from the head

Re: Here i go again ..
run an electric pump Dave - much simpler
and you can lose the cross-shaft and drive gear - much lighter

Re: Here i go again ..
I really dont like the diamond aluminum plate i used for the oil tank support , it works but just doesnt have the trick look i wish it did . A nice piece of carbon fiber would do the trick but for a 1/8" thick piece in 10"x 10"they want like 40$Suzukidave wrote:Thanx for asking Gerry but with all the spring and summer work going on around the house i have barely looked at it . Re: Here i go again ..
Thanx Garry .. I could also make it more simple to by doing away with the bypass but it would take a bit longer for the engine to warm up .garry55 wrote:run an electric pump Dave - much simpler

Re: Here i go again ..
Electric pump is the way to go but that requires a few changes to the crankcases to stop the water from falling out or getting too intimate with the transmission.
I'd block off the bypass altogether and fit a different thermostat. Mine has a bypass hose but a severely modified t'stat to ensure slow warm up for drag racing and full flow to keep it cool at the deep end.
