anyone know which way round the ex-starter motor ring gear bush should be fitted (picture #2 in last post)?
I forgot to check if the large oil cutouts face the crank oil seal or the outer casing

Do away with the bubble though.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Gary,
There's more metal to come off that gear and I don't think you need that "spacer" if all it drives is the nylon gear. Always more grams to be pared off. :)

not a lot really Dave - been busy at work, readying the holiday home for the coming season and making progress with the Tesi project, so the GT750 project hasn't received much attention recently. Plus I purchased an RF900 to run around on in the summer, so had to prep that too.
Did manage to find time at work to fabricate a pair of these plates though - shouldn't be hard to guess what they are for......

found time today to cut the holes for the spark plugs

Image

and turned 2 of these alloy housings to accomodate a pair of RGV250 rubber engine mounts

Image

when the motor is firmly mounted on the 2 rear brackets, these will be welded to the head plates like so

Image

then the support arms will be shortened and re-attached to the frame spars

Image

and it will then bolt up to support the motor at the front, like so.......

Image

this will enable me to run without a cumbersome and, in my opinion, unsightly, front subframe.

time will tell................

not yet Dave - time is tight at the moment and I am having issues with the rear-top motor mount.
I did find time at work to make my version of a barrel puller

Image

Image

Image

Image

I also took 6 of the original head bolts

Image

machined the dome off and drilled and tapped them to take 8mm bolts thus

Image

Image

so that I can dismount the motor without disturbing the cylinder head

Image

but until I solve the rear upper mount problem, it's on hold.
