Any tips from the vets on here as to good, solid ways of attaching fiberglass cafe seats to the frame of your bike? I'm
looking for all options... welding, clamps, velcro... anything. I'm looking to put one on my T500. Still haven't decided
if I'm using the stock tank or not but I'm leaning towards keeping this bike as stock as possible while giving it just a little cafe flair. My bike came without a seat, without an airbox and with some pretty messed up pipes so I've given myself leave to do whatever I want there. Just want to get this seat thing figured out.

Attaching a Fiberglass Cafe Seat
Slow and steady may win the race, but without loud and fast it's just a waste

Re: Attaching a Fiberglass Cafe Seat
Here is what I usually do. I use rubber captive wellnuts and then just bolt it through the seat. Then I attache the actual seat part with velcro. Work like a charm.

Here you can see it on my CL90 cafe bike. The four bolts can clearly be seen where the seat attaches.

Re: Attaching a Fiberglass Cafe Seat
Here is a pic of the assembly instructions that came with my seat from Hotwing Glass.
Simple and secure.
I insulated the seat from the frame with some foam truck cap tape and added some brackets that bolt on with the rear turn signals and attach to the inderside of the seat where the brake light mounts.
