Re: Tank Trivia Quiz
It has a sort of MV/Tank Shop Guzzi/JapAuto look about it with those bulges below the rider's arms.

Re: Tank Trivia Quiz
According to Sir Al, they used Honda/Dresda/Honda/PEM frames and tanks from Read Titan, Dresda and PEM depending on which year. The one in Classic Racer appears to have a badly fitting CR750 replica tank. Other pictures on the web show that bulging midriff style, which as you mention looks like a copy of the Imola tank.

Re: Tank Trivia Quiz
User "CrazyPJ" on the cafe board recognized it as an MV Agusta tank and provided the following link as proof:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1973_ ... o_bike.jpg

Partial points to TZ375 for mentioning MV.......
So do you think that's a real MV tank on that T500??? And more importantly, who is reproducing them???
**EDIT** as I stare at the two images together they look really close but are not an exact match to my eye. Looks like the T500 tank was definitely inspired by the MV tank....

Re: Tank Trivia Quiz
Jim, I agree that it looks a lot like an MV tank, but you are correct that it isn't from an MV IMHO. So I guess none of us will win that elusive prize this time around.
I've seen that picture before but I don't have any details on where I "harvested" the picture. It does have a title so I Googled and Binged and Yahoo'd that and no luck, so I shortened the image name and this popped up.
http://www.vinmoto.org/gallery/v/other/ ... _bort.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Again no details, but someone there may know who posted it.
BTW Bing had some interesting suggestions

Re: Tank Trivia Quiz
Ah TZer,
You've sparked some memory in my head after all! Here's a few more shots of that machine:
http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/suzi/bort.htm
http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/suzi/bort2.htm
The second page settles it as you see the tank in bare alloy. So either Bort made the tank or had it made by someone. I wonder if Muzza has contact details for Bort and we can ask him directly where the tank came from?
By the way, Muzza has a page full of picture links to T500s and it's well worth perusing if you have an hour to spare:
http://www.ozebook.com/compendium/t500bikes.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Tank Trivia Quiz
Looks like that is the winning answer!!!
I think the tank looks great on a T500 cafe and seems to fit really well on the frame. Now the problem is finding one that doesn't break the bank.
