I am stripping everything off to have the frame powder coated. There are quite a few of these "clips" that are welded to the frame and have a plastic covering. Any suggestions for replacing the plastic covering when I get the frame back?

Some companies will coat parts you send them. Can you make a copy of the clip and get it coated then remove it to apply to your frame?

You could also straighten out the clip and then spray a little WD40 under the rubber piece using the red straw to get into the end of the cover. Then pull the cover off the metal piece and save it for putting back on once the frame is painted or coated.
This only works if its a solid piece clamp and not the ones with the slot in the middle.

Another option might be the heat shrink tubing used for covering electrical splices. My local electronics.supply store has it in 4' sections in assorted sizes and colors.
