20w/40 oil equivilent and 30w two stroke

Hi guys
i am just restoring a gt380 and they call for 20w/40 gear/clutch oil i am from the. U.k and could get it there but what is the equivalent here in the states.also 30w two cycle is this your regular 2 stroke oil here like chainsaw 2 cycle etc.

Any 2 stroke injector oil is fine for the pump. Everyone seems to have their favorite, just make sure it's for injection and not premix. It should not have a weight on the bottle. As for the tranny you should be able to find that oil at your local auto store. They should have a motorcycle oil that's for a wet clutch in the weight that you need.

Use 75w/80 gear oil in the trans or motor oil like 15w/40 Rotella.

I have a 1978 GT380 and was suffering a bit of clutch slip when changing up at the higher end of the tacho
I was using cheap supermarket 20/50 multigrade. Put some Motul 10/30 transoil in, specifically designed for two stroke gearboxes. No clutch slip at all now plus gear changes are very smooth and neutral clicks in easily selected at standstill where it could sometimes be awkward.
