The color does get attention. And when I tell people its original, and what year it is.....it all starts to make sense to them.
I would have never thought I would ride a bike this color
.....but I have been riding it more than my all black Hayabusa....

I live in the middle of know where....find where SR15 and US20 cross...I'm a mile from there

Is there much difference between a gen 1 and a gen 2 BUSA?.....enough to trade up from a first gen anyway? Ive had mine for over 10 years, and I"ve kinda gotten bored with it. Thats why I'm messing around with an old stroker.

I originally bought the GT750J to get running then sell, but after riding it around......I like it too much to get rid of....
If you open this, you will see I have a hard time getting rid of bikes..... viewtopic.php?f=22&t=6310" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A lot on Gen 1 -Busa owners say the Gen 2 is the same .
Not so , Going from gen1 to gen 2 back and forth there is a big difference .
You would like a Gen 2 They are awesome.
I miss mine .

Someone had been working over this bolt before, and left it round inside....

So I ended up going through a couple bits to help it cooperate with me, so I could get the new seals put in.

Hey Busa could you get a measurement of how tall that front tire is and maybe the distance from the rim to the outer edge of the tire. I see it is a 52V tire, what size is the rear? Thanks Dave

They are Avon roadriders
130/80/18 and 90/90/19
The front has almost too much room, for my taste. But the rear tire fits perfect, with about 1/8 inch on each side of clearance...
Front tire is 3 1/2 wide from edge to edge, and 25 1/2 tall........... the rear is 5 1/8 edge to edge, on the stock rims, and 26 1/2 tall

Just took it for it's first ride with new tires, fork seals/15w oil, and bearings...
Feels like an entirely different bike..... Turns like a dream now...
Could be because my old rear tire was as rounded as frankenstiens head, and hard as cement...

The speedo reads 60 at an actual 55 now with these tires....right at 3500rpm

A few more parts and cleaning to brighten the old beast...
Not restoring, as I want to keep all the surfaces factory original...just maintaining it, so I can enjoy that two stroke smell.

I rode the GT throughout the 2013 season, and loved every minute on the bike.
It forever changed my way of enjoying a back road ride....
But as seasons change, so do projects. I had a few other two stroke projects (RGV) in 2014 that I wanted to do which took time away from riding much at all.
The next season (2015) brought on my CBX rebuild, and a future GS1000 project.....bad summer weather and time working in the garage left the GT collecting dust.
This past year I finished 3 bike projects, went to a number of shows on the CBX, and my wife got her MC license. Her license meant a good beginner bike for her (KTM 390 Duke)...and freedom for me about considering a passenger seat on every bike.
The GT collected more dust.
The original reason I wanted a GT750 in the first place was to build a cafe/streetfigher out of one. But when I found the pink bike, I knew it was too nice for that, and my wife loved riding on the back. I now have a number of parts to start a GT750 project , and selling the pink bike would help with cash for the project.
And the GT really needs to be seen in public instead of in my garage for me to glance at everyday.

I know I'll regret it though, as I'll never find another very early production J model (Dec 71) like this one is.
What to do....????
