Master Cylinder Return Port - how big is the hole?

Master Cylinder Return Port - how big is the hole?
I am busy cleaning out my master cylinder. The return port (see # 5 in the diagram) is completely blocked with hardened brake fluid. I want to make sure I don't try to clear it with something too big. How big is the hole down into the chamber, and what should I use to clear it (guitar string? needle?)
