GT750B Fuel Tank Cap gasket question

Post by RING_DING »

The rubber gasket on the fuel tank cap was perished so I am replacing it with a new one. What adhesive is recommended to stick it to the fuel tank cap surface?

Adhesive ? If I recall correctly, the inside lip of the new gasket was slotted and just fit over the edge of the sealing plate.

Ian,
Just checked and you are absolutely correct. The old one was so perished it just fell off so I didn't pay much attention to its fitment.
Now, for the next question.....any tips on how to get the new gasket on over the sealing plate? There is very little space between the edge of the sealing plate and the cap itself, and I failed miserably trying to work it on by hooking it over at the "open" end and working it around by turning the sealing plate. I felt like I needed three pairs of hands!
Thanks
Roy
