Pictures of my 1970 T 500 Restoration

Post by Titan SV »

I painted it a little different shade than the original blue. Had the redstripes cut for this bike and the 1971 I just finished. Still need to dail everything in and break things in. Looking for a decent Cobra to restore some day. The X6 is next . Hope you guys enjoy the pictures.

Beautiful restorations - ALL of them. I must ask, you say that you "Had the redstripes cut for this bike and the 1971 I just finished." Where are you located, and where did you get those tires? THANKS!

PS I have an original 1970 T500 with the tool kit and original handbook; I lent my handbook to Paul Miller so he now sells the ENTIRE series of Owner's Manual reproductions for the T500. Great way to complete your restorations if you do not already have owner's manuals.

Definitely nice & sharp looking! I'm impressed with the restoration skills of lots of guys on this forum -- way beyond anything I could do.

Noticed the throttle cable is labeled, "Motion Pro". Took a look at their website & it looks like you are using custom cables. A sticky topic with the specs for custom cables might be useful addition to the forum.
