Thanks for that Terry, much better than my attempt. I made the images smaller at first, but then decided they were too small and returned them to original. Obviously too big, but I'm new to this posting photo's suppose I will get there in the end.
Advant63, thanks for your concern, but if you look closely the rear spindle as I call it is pinned with an 'R' clip. You can just see the loop above the nut and the clip part goes across the front of the nut out of veiw.
Hi Mark,
Yes it goes quite well, It's still running points ignition with iridium plugs. Starts with a couple of kicks and never seems to foul the plugs.
If you see my previous post you will see I'm rebuilding another motor with electronic ignition, rebuilt gearbox, fully rebuilt crank (new mains, big ends, seals and small ends) And also a set of ultasonically cleaned and rejetted carbs.
The ironic thing is that because the bike runs so well at the moment i'm in no rush to swap engines.
I went to a local bike cafe last week and the 'ol girl' drew lots of attention which makes it all worthwhile.
Just caught up with this resto story from the summer.
Fabulous job, Keith.....and you seem to be an accomplished photog as well. Great pics !!!
That's gotta be the most detailed 380 resto I've seen since Rocky did his last one.....or maybe Triple Ed's last one.....

Thanks for the comments guys, in addition to the motor I'm doing I've also restored some carbs and an airbox.
The airbox has All the brackets re zinc plated and re 'chromed' end caps.
I ultrasonically cleaned the carbs and rejetted using Keyster kits
Unfortunately, John, a lotta guys figure an anorak is just some kind of weird foul weather gear.......

I've actually always thought of 'geek' as being a compliment, as it does imply a level of education - and of course, the ultimate geek is a 'propeller head' to which we all aspire
