S32-2

Post by advant63 »

After a couple of years, it's finally done. i couldn't have done it without pumping a small fortune to ebay, but that's just reality i guess. the left lung was a mess with piston skirt everywhere.

it is pretty cool. like a 150 cc cobra (without oil injection).
i rolled my second one to the workroom tonight. it should be an easier fix.(famous last words).
they both failed on the left cylinder. the blue one broke a skirt and needed a total teardown for shrapnel wounds.
the red one had a seizure and the bottom end seems to have survived.

Sweet bikes! You've done a great job on your blue one!
I'm thinking of buying a white 66. How is it getting engine parts for it, like crank oilseals and bearings, etc?

These bikes are sweet little tiddlers but im just too tall to feel comfortable on them. Heck even a Titan feels cramped as heck to me, Jay Leno said it best, "a circus bear on a tricycle"
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Way to go, Dennis !!!! :D
She's a looker and certainly reflects the time/money you've put into her.....
especially the time. A restored S32 is a very rare item in Canada......or anywhere else, for that matter.
Again, congratulations.
The next time you're in the city we'll have to have a few more Kilkennys in my garage. Hopefully the weather will cooperate again. :D

the parts do come up now and then on ebay. patience is the key. paul miller always seems to have a top end for sale. some pieces are still available through the dealer. i've hoarded some seals if you ever need some.

Rick, i never thanked you properly for the b&b (beers and a bed)
it was very kind of you to take a stranger into your house.
the auto museum at the heritage village was a nice surprise. hundreds of gas pumps, lots of signage and a ton of rare autos.
they also have a fuctioning rail yard and museum, steam paddle wheel ferry and fully populated village.
the air museum was cool as well.

My pleasure, Dennis.
Actually NO ONE on this board is a stranger, as such, IMO.......
but there are a few STRANGE guys around........
and I'll admit to being one of 'em.

Nice shots of the new display at Heritage Park. I have to admit I haven't been there to see that yet....and it's only been up for a year or so, IIRC...

Just a thought on the blue bike, I think the front fender is on backwards. The curved edge goes on forward away from the engine...... Other than that, a very beautiful bike!!

LOLOLOL. I can't believe all of us so-called "experts" missed that one.....and I'm definitely including myself at the head of that group.
Yes, you're absolutely correct.....that fender IS on backwards. I'm still shaking my head at myself........LOLOLOL
