Fred, Thanks for that info. That listing is the marketing/sales colors and what I listed were the colors as they are listed in the parts books.

I would speculate that Suzuki made bikes in the same colors, but they were given different names in different countries by the local distributors.

So Firemist Orange on my last L tank is actually Suzuki Flake Orange in the parts book and was probably called something else overseas.

And the Candy Gypsy red on the A tank I got from John fry was very red by comparison.

Now to those A/B tanks.

Both Candy Gypsy red and Flake Orange are listed in the parts books, but the tanks are only shown as available in Maui Blue and Gypsy Candy red, so the official Suzuki documents are inconsistent.

Fred pointed out that the sales materials list Orange and Blue, so it is possible that some bikes came in with the "orange" tanks and some with Candy red.

BTW, different year tank badges have different levels of gloss on the silver S.U.Z.U.K.I letters. Some were like chrome and some were flat silver.

I'd say this is definitely red.

You know most men are colour blind eh ? And possibly to prove it, I have to admit that all those 'red' bikes look like shades of orange to me !

That Red is very orange and the orange is rather red. From a distance they look similar, but side by side they are very different. Even I can tell the difference and I AM color blind (red-green).
