1969 T500 Mk2
Chaps.
Thought I would share my garage antics with you.
I acquired this bike about a year ago as a MOTd, running " not much to make it a show winner" yeah right....
To be honest I paid too much for it but the scarcity of the Mk2 meant by heart ruled my head and the deal was done.
The previous owner had made a decent start, refurbing the crank, giving her new barrels and having the frame recoated as well as a new paint job in....the wrong colour.
On the up side, engine and frame numbers match, 20117 making it a very early Mk2.
Nearly all the fixings were rusty, the dreaded socket head bolts or just wrong so I have spent much time just ensuring she is held together with the correct bits! NOS bits and pieces have been acquired as well as new parts and last Christmas I was fortunate enough to pick up a freshly refurbed paint set in the correct colour!
Lots still to do, I don't do it for financial gain, I do it because I love it and at the end, hopefully one of the rarest T500 variants will be my steed.
Here's how she looks at present, the first of the fresh paint has made an appearance too, lovely stuff.

Its a pity they did not put on the diamond pattern symetrically like the originals were done. This is how the cover should look, also notice a slightly larger overlap on both rear side stitched sections.
Two strokes, its just that simple.

Re: 1969 T500 Mk2
Way to long for a reply, apologies.
Yep, diamond pattern is slightly off to one side, to be honest, the photo made it look worse than it was.
Now had the cover refitted but the 'suzuki' wording is now not central. I'm not to worried as i will be removing the writing as i don't believe the Mk2 had it anyway.
