Re: Billys T500
frame back so lets start putting on the nice bits
I am using Marque Restore Chrome in Coventry i have split into 3 batches. the first batch has the front wheel rim, fork tops and bottoms f mudguard and stays and the fork ears. £570 great quality but 3 weeks late took 11 weeks in the end. and not cheap. at this rate the finished bike will be £1850 just on chrome

Hells teeth! It'll be running by tomorrow with the speed of that rebuild!!!
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Re: Billys T500
Hope I am not too late for the tank liner removal...
Try with sodium hydroxide (lye, caustic soda) in a 1:2 proportion to hot water i.e. 1kg soda 2lt water.
Let it react, for some minutes, than put some nuts and screws in it, and shake, not stir vigorously for as long as you see fit.
Let it rest on each side, about 30min
Eventually, replace the solution and repeat the process, till you satisfied.
Next, rinse with clear water, possibly with an idrojet.
Strap for a paint job, cause the tank, will have been blemished by the soda.
OT nice rubber you got there...

Re: Billys T500
well I have tried to look in to the correct routing for the throttle cable but this seems the best, any better suggestions ?

Re: Billys T500
grips on and chain on
I did have to put a 2mm spacer behind the front cog as the X ring chain is a tad wider than the STD one.

Re: Billys T500
having more delays with the chrome, seems as though I am being bumped back for more important customers, another 3 week delay on my last batch.
