GT750 restoration

Post by blakenator »

Hello, I'm in the process of restoring my 1977 gt750b but first I must give a back story of the bike.
My grandpa bought the bike new in 1977 and kept riding it until his death, after he passed away it was put into storage for 10 years until it had to be moved out of storage so me and my dad bought it from my grandma, we bought it changed the fuel petcok and it ran for one day and then it never did after that so we rebuilt the carbs and it didn't start after that (even with pull starting) so I started the process of replacing the crank seals/rebuilding the engine. I have found a few more issues then just the crank seals, as you will see in one of the pictures below, the woodruff key is broken.

What a nice story. Good fortune in renovating your grandfather's bike.
