Frame touch up paint

Post by buffalodave »

I was wondering what the experts use for frame touch up paint. Overall my bikes oem finish isn't that bad but while the bike is apart I would like to make it look as nice as I can with repainting the entire thing. I have used the PJ1 frame paint (gloss black) in the past with OK results but am wondering if there is a better option. This is not going to be a 100 point show bike but a "survivor" restoration... any thoughts?
Thanks! :)

What are the better results you seek? Kind of a non specific question "better than OK results of the past" leave's quite a lot open to interpretation.

If it is small chips and little spots I use black finger nail polish. Works better than you think.

I use paint....gloss black engine enamel. I'm sure the PJ1 stuff is top-notch. Lots of people like powder-coating.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........
