Hi ALL
I am near completion of the restoration of my gt80 however i ordered a new headstock data plate.the old one was dated 1974 yet the titles states its a 1975,both vin on title and headstock sticker are the same. just year different.could this just be that it was built in 74 but only registered in 75 ? and will this cause me any problems when i transfer the title ??

Re: data plate year not matching title
In most US states, it is the year first titled, not the year of manufacture, which is shown on the title.

Re: data plate year not matching title
+1. The US bike I have restored is a GT550K engine number 25*** which is a 1972 and that's what it says on the headstock label (8/72). It could have been registered years later. Pity I can't trace where and when.
Engine number details here - very informative site from OJB.

Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
