T500 - petcock fuel filters

Post by Fritz500 »

Those two white plastic filters atop the fuel tap are kaput - will these fit? http://www.discountbikespares.co.uk/our ... 0-RE5.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Or are there other sources?

I can't believe the price for these little bits of mass produced rubbish.

I found some for sale on German eBay - 100 pieces for a mere 400 Euro +25 Euro for postage... :wth:

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately they want $33.95 :shock: for shipping four of them to Australia. They obviously don't want my business.

Cheers

AFRetired,
Thanks very much for the offer to assist.

Let me know how well they fit. I figured they were cheap ($2.50 a pair) and I could make them fit as I have lots of brass tube in odd sizes if need be.

I saw them also advertised on German eBay but the guy want something like $8 each!!! Originally he wanted to sell them in lots of 100 for 400 Euro ($500 or so).

As a matter of interest you can buy all the replacement bits (including the diaphragm) for the petcock off German eBay but the prices are horrendous

Cheers

Those filters fit all the Suzuki petcocks from that time period so they will work. Sometimes the hole in the body of the petcock is a bit worn from corrosion and it just drops in. If this happens you will need to update the fit by either stretching the filter base a bit or using a few drops of fuel resistant glue to keep it firmly in place.
Two strokes, its just that simple.
