Just got done riding the Triangle

And when I got home, I seen that my kicker right side gasket has worked its way out a bit and I've lost a few drops of crankcase oil. Look at these pictures. This is the second time this gasket "pops" out a little and I get this seeping.

So, the question is, how far should this gasket be inserted into this hole. Right now it is flush with the casing, but I can put a deep socket into place and tap it in further if I need to.

Who has experience with this. Should I get a new gasket, or could this gasket be in there backwards.

Thanks for the help

It appears to me, to be in backward. Never made it to Devil's Triangle. My favorite is The Snake.

It is the end of the gear shift shaft...

Here is a close up of my seal. If it's in the right way you should be able to read the numbers on the end of the seal. Yours looks like it is pushed in far enough. I'd remove it clean it and the area it sits with some spirits and then smear some silicon sealer before place it back. If you lay the bike over you can do it without losing any oil.

Cheers

Thank you both for the notes regarding this seal. Look me up when you're in Knoxville. The Dragon at Deals Gap and the Devils Triangle near Petro are world class curves through the mountain rides, it takes about 1.5 hours to do either. Here's a photo link of my bike . Take care
