i am looking for intake boots. i can find them on ebay but they want 170. they need to be bolt on style. eric is porting my cyl from a early 72. then i will mate that to a 74 bottom end that has been rebuilt. we will be using the 34mm round slide carbs. eric is the mastermind behind all of this. i am ok with spending money but i dont want to spend 170 for boots if i dont need to pay that much.
links to parts sites will be good if they have them. eric specifically said no to bike bandit. he said go with suzuki parts cause they were built really well. thaks

Cruizinimage on ebay is the place to go for all GT750 intake boots. Their parts are slightly stiffer than genuine Suzuki rubber, but seem to be fine and the price is about 1/3 of Genuine Suzuki parts.

GT750 boots are set up for 32mm carbs and usually need to be massaged to work properly with 34mm carbs. The same applies to late 72/73 boots which are usually a touch small for 34mm carbs but can be opened up a little.

Good idea Dave.Stock (and repro) boots are quite long compared to standard Mikuni manifolds and that may be an issue. Eric must be milling the intake mount face to angle the carbs up because stock 34mm bodies are too larger for that application. The usual answer is to machine the block to angle the carbs up.

Others machine an angled adapter plate to tilt the carbs. A better solution is small body 34s but they are really heavy. They do fit really well though. They are a bit of a hybrid though and can use stock OEM 32mm slides.

I'd prefer to remove the stock intake studs and weld up the old threaded holes and then machine the mounting face and drill and tap new manifold holes but that's a lot of extra work and cost for a slightly nicer solution.

With later barrels it's possible to use GS1100 intake boots to kink the carbs up a bit.

Last time i tested a GT750 with a shorter section between the carb and the cylinder the engine did feel snappier , if pod filters are going to be used maybe the shorter Mikuni intakes would be a better idea ?

That's the ones Dave. They are slightly stiffer than stock OEM and I had one clamp fail in 5 sets, but they appear to be well made and at that price plus shipping it's a bargain.

I was thinking about your comments about intake length and on a tuned motor, it might be better to use shorter intake boots.

I'm still running the old oem ones just wrapped up in a couple layers of electrical tape , its working well for the time being .

i got these ones. after gasket prices seperate from the boots these looked like a good enough deal.
