Electric start

Did any of the twins come with electric start? I think only the 185?

The GT 185 uses a generator to charge and as the starter. The other twins are kick start and use an alternator for charging. I am not sure about pre GT, and smaller GT that weren't sold in the US.

Suzuki sold some electric start models in the 1950s & 1960s. More info is here http://www.suzukicycles.org

The s32 is an electric-start 150cc twin sold in ’65 — ’67.

my 1965 t10 is an electric start. very similar set up to the gt185

Thanks for the info so far. I should have stated my reason for asking was that I currently have a T500 motor in a gs500 chassis but it is difficult for me to kick it over now. I like the idea of keeping a 2 stroke in my garage so thinking of pulling the 500 out and doing something like the 185 or perhaps a rd200 and keep it air cooled.

550 motors are electric start.

Richard never had a problem starting it - first or second kick.

Had a 550 (in a GS750ES chassis) but didn’t care for the weight. Have OA in my knees and hips and while I can still kick her, it’s occasionally painful and won’t be getting better.

Would be a single, but a more modern dirt bike motor would be another option.

Remember the M15D - mid 1960s - 50cc single with electric start.
Depends if you're 'burgerman' or 'veggieman' nowadays though......

I still have a yam sr250 and a srx250 around so the single is covered. Just looking to keep a “vintage” street 2 stroker around,
