Cylinder head - curiosity question

Are sleeves available for the GT's ? In particular, the 750 ? I ask because I have never seen any for sale anywhere on line. Second question. These pistons are only available in half millimeter increments from Suzuki from what I have seen. Wiseco, is known to produce smaller increment piston sizes. Does Wiseco produce Buffalo pistons as well ? If not, from the piston sizes I remember seeing available as Suzuki produced. What is the max amount of rebores available for the Buffalo before you would have to resleeve ? 70 mm ?

Wiseco do make pistons for the big GT up to 71.5 or 72mm and they are available on line from whoever paid Wiseco to make a batch. Even better though are Wossner and they are available from Jim Hinshaw at Fast from The Past in 5070 through 72mm.

Liners used to be available form LA sleeve part number FL-384 I believe but they are not cheap.
If you could find 6mm O/S pistons you could probably bore the barrel out and have it welded around the top and bottom flanges and machined and plated. That might be a touch pricey but what rice trick performance.

What seems to limit the GT's performance isnt the bore but the transfer ports .. if there was a way to incorporate todays modern transfer porting the GTs could be 150 hp engines .

That's a bit tricky as they are not pressed in place - as tz375 reminded me a short while ago when I had a similar question, they are cast in place and you would have to do a lot of modifying to replace them due to how they are held in. Note the 'bumps' in the side wall. Buying a good used set of replacement barrels is still a lot cheaper.

Thanks, that's useful for anyone to know. My cylinders have not been bored nearly that far. But, I have never seen anyone talk along those lines on here and was wondering how that played out.
