im trying to find the correct diagram for my 74 im working on, all i can find is the gt380b diagram and i have noticed a few variations like my brake switch colors are brown and orange not white and orange and they show a single 9 pin connector for the handle bar switches and mine has a 6 pin and 3 bullet connectors and i have one gauge that has 6 and one that has 5 wires in the 6 pin connector for the gear indicator and none of the colors match, and i dont seem to have any leads for a turn signal relay and a 6 pin connector in the head light bucket that isnt accounted for in that diagram.

It sounds like you may have one of the bikes with the mismatched coloured harnesses. Around 1974 Suzuki received some harnesses from the supplier with substituted wiring colours to which they affixed little tags to the said wires to indicate what their correct colour should be.
For example the brown wire on the brake switch circuit should be white and it would have had a little tag wrapped onto it by the connector saying white.
The problem is the altered colours are not standard either so it could be a brown on your bike and a green on another one.
This creates all sort of issues if the tags fall off, especially if you are not familiar with the harness and what the non standard colours are supposed to be representing.
There is a service bulletin about this from Suzuki from back in the day but I personally don't like the idea of the mismatched wires and those tags that fall off.
With the relatively cheap cost of used harnesses on ebay its easier to get a correctly coloured one from a 75 to 77 model and solve the "whats this wire for again" dilema.

if the colors are different i can live with that since i dont have the tags, idk how id feel about a used folded up harness cus ebays offerings look crusty and fragile minus a 300$ nos harness. the only real issue at the moment is the gear indicator, i have a 5 and 6 pin gauge cluster and they both don't work, im not sure what the change was to the harness was or if they should have some functionality if you plug them in or if they changed the pin connections all around
