The throttle shaft on my oil pump keeps popping out halfway. Is there a pin that keeps it in? Is it supposed to be pressed in? Thanks!

For a GT250 ? It shouldn't be able to come out - has someone had the pump apart ?

A disassembled pump is shown in this topic:

Look closely at the plate that is attached via 3 screws.
It has a little tab that prevents the throttle shaft problem you have.
If the pump is not properly assembled or there is something wrong with the tab (bent, too short, …) then you can have this issue.

The GT250 & T500 have similar oil pumps.
They use the same o-rings & seals. Bloop2 sells a seal kit:

Also, as shown in the pic, the pump priming bolt has left hand thread.

It turns out that the tab is broken off. Is there a place to get just the cap or do I have to replace the pump?

Suzuki didn't sell repair parts. Back then the pump was fairly cheap & they expected people to get a new pump on the rare occasions the pump had problems.

A cap from a T250, T350 or T500 pump probably will work.
The oil flow rate for these other bikes is different, so you may be able use the cap but not the entire pump.

At east one member has mentioned turning the left-hand bolt the wrong way & needed to replace the pump.
So its likely that a forum member has a spare.

A used pump on eBay is another option.
