suzi 250 twins

G'day all,
New to this group, but have to catch up on a lot of knowledge.
Currently do not have a Suzi, but am on the lookout for an X7, or failing that a GT250.

However my current problem is related to Suzi pistons for the 250 twins (T10, T20, T250 and GT250) - and possibly mght include the GT380.
I have a few British 250 2-stroke twins (Ariel Arrow/Leaders), and they each have Suz pistons in them. Here lies my problem, I do not know which Suzi model the pistons come from, and I need to replace the right hand barrel/piston!. The latest offering from the Ariel Arrow/Leader group is to use an X7 piston, but this is a different height and weight than my previous Suzi pistons. (In case it helps, the Arrow/Leader 250cc engine had 54 x 54 bore and stroke).
So can anyone help me identify what my earlier pistons were from, so that I might be able to buy one?.
I am not a mechanic, but am happy to try and answer any questions to help.
Many thanks, Arthur

Not sure if it will help, but take a look at this link for some comparative piston sizes - just scroll down to the Suzuki section, or for that matter any of the 2 stroke sections. You may be able to find a size close to one of the ones you have:

The other source is the Specifications Bulletin #1, 3rd and 4th pages, which you can find on this link. I only see three models using a 54mm bore cylinder.

Good luck ! 8)

I have Honda CR125 pistons in my GT250... You have to move the ring end gap locator pin position on the pistons...but light and strong... You have to use one specific year-spread...late 80's I think... Tom

GT380 is also 54x54. I would think that it must be an early bike as the later Suzies had many more ports! The Arrow/Leader were quite basic in comparison - I had several 'back in the day'.
