New 2-stroke engines from Down Under

A New Zealand company is having a bash at bringing the two stroke motor into the 21st Century. Kiwi lad Denver Lawson (http://www.miramotorcycles.co.nz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) is about to market his new two stroke motor in a small off-road bike - the MT80. Apparently, he is using the exhaust power valve to boost low-end performance and the small bike is running a 4 speed gear box that gives weight savings. He is moving on to a direct injection 250cc, 2 stroke single with a 6 speed box - that meets the Eureopean emission standards. Rumour has it that he is also working on a 500cc (?100 hp) and 1000cc direct injection 2-stroke bikes.

Fingers crossed for a successor to John Britten.

it seams like Rotax could make (engine) one now as well. They have E-TEC for Evinrude marine and Ski-Doo Snowmobiles are similar (direct injected). Getting over 20 mpg with a 2 stroke snowmobile. I think a a 600cc HO liquid is 120hp+

I want to see a SAAB with a 2 stroke 750/850cc again  . Love to find one old 2takt here in USA
