Paul Miller exhausts

I'm nearing the end of my 1976 GT500 restoration now and the one thing that I have been putting off is replacing the exhausts. The ones I have are are lace, so I've been looking at the ones on offer from Paul Miller which also include the header pipes at £550 the pair including shipping, which I think is a pretty good price as they work out at only £100 more than a decent pair of expansion chambers.
Before I buy though, I was wondering if anyone else had bought them from him as I was wondering what the quality of these pipes are like, as apparently they are restored items?
Marcel at Classic Suzuki Parts in Holland also has some newly manufactured mufflers on offer for a similar price but they don't come with the down pipes. Has anyone got any info on these?
Cheers
Martin

Martin I can only advise you but I'd buy the new reproduction ones from Marcel, you cant go wrong with his parts. Being you are in the UK shipping to you should be cheaper than any item from the US.

Allan, good call. That could even be PM's source from Europe. Unless he has commissioned someone to repop them.

I'm not sure about the price and shipping to the UK on the Paul Miller ones (shipping is probably expensive), but in the States, Paul was selling the rechrome T500 mufflers for $399 each, which was already a good price, compared to the $450 each I paid to have my originals rechromed. Now PM is also including the header pipe and muffler for the $399, which seems like a really good deal to me. He must get a volume discount with his local chroming shop.

Well, thanks for the replies and advice guys.
I think I'll opt for Paul Miller's and it's purely down to cost (as they're both quality parts) as he'll ship them for $78 plus $800 for the pair including the down pipes, whereas Classic Suzuki Parts cost 600 Euros plus shipping and don't include the down pipes. It's no competition really, but I suppose it's all down to current exchange rates and I know that Marcel deals in quality parts as I've had stuff from him in the past.

I'm just curious as to what the price of T500 headers are in the UK, did you check to see what Marcel could put together for you.

Martin, you can buy the repro exhausts directly by the manufacturer,
http://www.london-exhaust.com/nieuws.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
What I've heard from German T500 owners, they are excellent quality.
If you need downpipes, I have NOS set on shelf.
Regards,
Argo

The London site is neat! Thanks for the link Argo!
I can't find the T500 silencer page in English though so here's what Babelfish says is on the page:
London Exhaust Technology bring silencing devices of Japanese classics on the market to 3 types. For Kawasaki Samurai and Avenger now silencing devices deliverable there those 100% lookalike are with the original silencing devices. Because there still reasonable numbers of these types drive round there and regularly question to are, London have a first limited edition produced. Finishing is in a high quality chromium work, what is obvious for London. Price for a set Kawasaki silencing devices € 475 are, - (incl VAT) and only as set deliverable. Also for Suzuki T500 and GT500 there soon silencing devices are deliverable. For this new technology has been developed these nevertheless complex bring silencing devices on the market. tool costs the eventual cost for this type silencing devices stipulate, and these are favourable still an acceptable offer verkoopprijs of € 575, - (incl VAT) by set. If there at mark clubs questions be with regard to reconstruct of silencing devices, do not fear then and get in touch with London. London continue undiminished these developments, and the Classic driving world will provide with qualitatively high-quality exhaust systems.
€ 575 converts to $809 at the current exchange rate (including VAT at 17.5% but not shipping) so Paul's deal looks a bit more cost effective considering you get the header pipes as well. The header pipes are still available from Suzuki but have jumped to $108 a piece at Ron Ayers.

Technically true, however I am not sure if you can get them to leave it off initially or if you pay it and file for a refund here. Thought I would include it just in case so nobody here in the US get additional sticker shock if they go the direct order route with London Exhausts.

On some Dutch websites, I've seen T500 repro mufflers for EUR 500, offered by London Exhausts.
May be there is some discount as well.

Jim & Ian raise good points that you need to be sure that the company in Europe does not charge VAT/GST. All export sales are zero rated for tax and no VAT should be charged, but some small companies may not know how to deal with that. Any company on the web in Europe should in theory have enough experience with export or non EU sales to know, but don't take it for granted. Check.

The London Exhausts web site does look promising. I've requested a price from them for the full set and I'll also see what Marcel can come up with.
