69 T250

Post by bdblk12v »

Hello all. I have a 69 t250 that my dad bought back in like 1970. He gave the bike to me and i want to get it running. The bike has like 5400miles on it. It has been sitting for many years. Quite a few years ago when i was about 14 i had it running. The problem then was the internet was not even mainstream and parts were very unavailable. I needed a throttle cable set and looked all over trying to find one. I was dumb and a kid. I did have it running and it wanted to revv way up when started no idle it was wot. Now i purchased a set of cables and carborators from paul miller. I have cleaned the tank but havent been able to find a key. The key number is 4153. I know the clutch is stuck also and i will need a clutch cable and brake cables. My questions are what should i do and look at before again getting it running? Im a diesel mechanic by trade and havent messed with bikes too awful much. I have been looking about this bike online and dont find a lot of info on them. Im really new at riding and well fell in love. I dont want a crotch rocket i want this classic machine running. Sorry for the long post im trying to learn and find out all that i can. I really want this bike going and am excited. Thanks robert

Hello Robert,

You can purchase a key here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUZUKI-K ... 2566bfc4b5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

the factory service manual is here:

http://file.walagata.com/w/sundialmotos ... Manual.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You can look up Suzuki part numbers here:

http://www.temeculamotorsports.com/fich ... &fveh=1933" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

although it may be cheaper to buy them here:

http://www.ronayers.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

just put your part number into the search box.
